Self-Help For the Elderly’s Westside Affordable Housing Fair

On March 9th, 2024, the FEP had the privilege of participating in the San Francisco Westside Housing Resource Fair, hosted by Self-Help for the Elderly. This event provided us with a valuable platform to extend our services to the west side of San Francisco and engage with seniors, recognizing the vital role housing plays in our city's sustainability, particularly for the small business community.

Amidst a gathering of 20 community-based organizations, diverse city agencies, and the local community, we had the opportunity to not only offer our services but also to facilitate connections and provide valuable resources. We were delighted to welcome Real Estate Agent Leilani Ishaan and Sandra Smith from Guild Mortgage, esteemed experts in affordable housing solutions, who generously shared their insights and expertise with attendees.

At the event, attendees had the chance to explore a range of housing topics, including senior housing subsidies, affordable housing workshops, below-market-rate housing consultations, landlord and tenant rights, homeowner maintenance assistance, ADU information, and access to various community resources. The addition of giveaways and raffles added an extra element of excitement and appreciation for the community.

With over 20 government agencies and community partners present, the fair served as a comprehensive platform offering affordable housing services, community programs for youth and adults, and legal guidance for both tenants and landlords. It was an enriching experience, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to support housing stability and economic development in our community.
